When and how did you get your start?
I started after my own wedding and realized how outdated the wedding dresses felt and how difficult it was to find anything that felt comfortable. I was working as a designer at that time after studying fashion design at FIT in NYC. The wedding dress industry wasn’t in my career interest but I realized that I could bring something different to modern brides. In the beginning, I focused on custom design pieces. I explored a lot of fabrics and cuts that felt effortless and refreshing. Eventually I launched the first collection and started connecting with like-minded female entrepreneurs in the bridal industry around the world.
Where do you find design inspiration?
Everything definitely starts with “a modern twist on bridal”, and then I look for fabrics that can create the silhouettes and textures to bring a fresh take on that. I love starting with draping and seeing how the fabric naturally moves and drapes around the body. The rest is the design process to make it comfortable, practical, and functional.
I love working through the process of how ideas turn into a gorgeous garment that moves people. The butterfly moment is when the model puts on the first design sample and brings the dress to life. Seeing the fabric move around the body and the idea coming to life is just magical.

What do you love most about the design process?
I love working through the process of how ideas turn into a gorgeous garment that moves people. The butterfly moment is when the model puts on the first design sample and brings the dress to life. Seeing the fabric move around the body and the idea coming to life is just magical. Also, when I see stunning wedding photos of brides wearing NEWHITE dresses, I feel really rewarded for what I do.
