We hear firsthand the pressure our brides feel to change themselves before their wedding. It’s heartbreaking to hear our brides feel like they have to be a perfect version of themselves on their wedding day. At Lovely Bride, we believe you should be YOU to SAY ‘I DO.’ We’ve started a Instagram Stories series called #IAmLovely to bring honesty out into the wedding world to let our brides know we love them just they way they are. Each month we feature beautiful badass women telling us something that makes them lovely. This series of self affirmations has taught us so much about our inspiring community of #OurLovelies.

My Fearlessness is Lovely
Growing up, I came from a family who hated change! I quickly learned that my fearlessness is what set me apart. Whether it’s moving across the country or wearing something that makes a statement, I’m not afraid of trying something new. And now, my favorite part of being a Lovely is getting to encourage others to be bold + authentically themselves without worrying about what anyone else thinks!

My Ability to Feel is Lovely
I’m an enneagram 4, so I feel deep deep deep. A lot of times I’m the one who my friends cry to or process any kind of emotions they’re going through with. I don’t always have something to say to make someone feel better, but I can always relate, or at least empathize. I’ve found that this is a beautiful way to connect with brides. If they’re feeling stressed or worried or overwhelmed, I can get in it with them. FEEL it with them. I love loving people in that way. It’s usually small in the moment, but it always means more than we truly know.

My Curves are Lovely
I used to be so embarrassed about my weight. Clothes were hard to find, boys didn’t like me, & I felt like everyone was staring at me for the wrong reasons. But I have grown SO MUCH. Because of all those obstacles I’ve realized that life is way too short to hate on yourself. God has only given us this one body & I have learned to love what He has given me. Loving the little features from my small eyes to my curves. I love my body now more than ever.
My Strength is Lovely
It’s hard getting diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, an invisible disease. No one knows until you pull your insulin pump out at dinner, or until you’re frantically eating fruit snacks because your blood sugar is low. It’s a constant battle with my body and people not understanding. Despite all the lows, I feel like I’m a stronger person because of it! I’m more cautious of the foods I put in my body. I’m able to relate with my brides who have medical issues. I have a whole new outlook on health and what it means to me. It’s molded me into who I am today, so for that I’m grateful!
