When and how did you get your start?
I worked as an in-house designer for many years before taking the leap to start my own business. Bridal came naturally to me after designing evening dresses, and I loved the idea of finding an industry where I could make my own niche. I wasn’t seeing any bridal gowns like the ones I had in mind and that felt exciting.
Where do you find design inspiration?
I love renaissance paintings, the way the artists treated fabric – it’s how I like to imagine it wrapping and moving about the body. I try to always design with motion in mind, how the gown will look when the bride is and isn’t moving, and to create movement with our treatment of fabrics.
What do you love most about the design process?

The beginning stages! There’s nothing better than having a weekend where inspiration hits and rapidly sketching down everything that comes to my mind, without editing. There’s a freedom to this where I don’t worry about how wearable the gown is and I allow myself to just flow.
What would you be doing if you weren’t designing?
Running a coffee shop with my husband – it’s our long term “retirement” plan. We love the idea of staying involved in our local community by running another small business, being there every day and seeing familiar faces.

What’s your best wedding dress shopping advice for Our Lovelies?
Trust your instincts, no one knows you better than yourself. Take your time, take in the advice and comments you receive from friends and loved ones, but at the end of the day you are the one wearing the gown, and it should feel like you on your wedding day. And once you purchase, stop looking at gowns, it will simply drive you crazy – there’s always another!
