How did you get your start in bridal gown design?
In the beginning I designed evening dresses, but soon I noticed that there was a niche in the bridal market. At that time all wedding dresses were similar to each other, classy in princess style, made of heavy, uncomfortable fabrics. I was looking for something delicate, feminine, and light, so in 2009 I decided to try to create bridal gowns. What is the most significant to me, is that in the bridal fashion market, I could fulfill myself more as an artist, be closer to haute couture, and design something very unique using sophisticated materials.

Do you have a muse?
I admire strong women, who know what they want and are not afraid to go for it. Charisma, charm, and has a romantic, artistic soul- these are things that my muse should have.

What inspired you for the 2020 collection and which was your favorite dress? The Lovely Bride favorite is CHEY across our Lovely Bride stores!
I was inspired by impression and the constant play of lights and floating moments. Of course nature is a constant source of my inspiration- delicateness of flowers, shape of leaves, etc.
It is quite tough to choose one cherished dress. I must admit, that CHEY is also in my selection of favorites, but if I had to indicate only one it would be SHEENA.

What is your favorite part in the design process?
I feel satisfaction when I first see a result of my drafts on a model and I know that’s it! This is the moment, when I realize my vision has just become reality.

Can you tell us where the 2020 collection was shot and how you selected the location?
I love the ocean because of its unpredictability and historical places with beautiful architecture where people are also living joyful lives, so we chose Portugal for the location of our photoshoot. The southern atmosphere of the decadent Alfama district, the magic of Lisbon gardens and the ever-changing ocean go hand in hand with my philosophy to live in the moment and boldly follow one’s desires.

Do you have any advice for brides wearing your dresses?
Don’t be afraid to follow your dreams and desires and always accept yourself. You are beautiful.
