I had a “lovely” experience. The showroom is cozy and at the time we went, felt very private. I had pre-saved several Sarah Seven dresses, which did not work at all. Luckily, my guide Elizabeth had the perfect eye and ended up pulling a dress I never would have sought out, which was perfect (Alexandra Grecco Colette – a sleeper hit!)

Best case scenario: I came to Lovely Bride to try on wedding dresses for the first time and I found my dress! The shop itself is super cute and inviting and I was able to bring three guests with me for my appointment (which is the perfect amount in my opinion.) I was lucky enough to have TWO bridal consultants work with me – one was newer so another stylist was working with her in tandem. They both seemed genuinely excited to pull the dresses I was interested in and there was no pressure to try on or show a dress that I didn’t love. I felt super comfortable with them in the dressing room with me to help me into the dresses… and I definitely would not have been able to get into half of them without their help, lots of tulle to navigate! Once I narrowed it down to my top two dresses, they brought out a veil and accessories to give me the full picture. I am SO thrilled with my dress and the shopping experience was so easy and fun – I would recommend Lovely Bride to anyone looking for a unique dress that you won’t find at a traditional bridal shop. Can’t wait to come back in 6 months to pick up MY dress!

I was nervous going into my appointment and not completely sure what I wanted, having tried on a bunch of styles at other stores, but Elizabeth took my jumbled thoughts and came back with several wonderful options. This bridal shop is beautifully decorated, and the staff was welcoming. I had the opportunity to work with Elizabeth as my stylist during my time at Lovely Bride. She started the appointment by asking about my vision, looking at the venue to get a feel for what I was going for, and we even looked at my photographer’s website. She then talked to me about the dresses I had identified as “my favorites” on my online profile and walked me through what I could expect which each gown. Elizabeth has incredible attention to detail and knows what to ask to better understand how you feel in each dress. She listened to how I felt about each dress and style and brought in different dresses based on the feedback I shared. She was great to work with and helped me find the dress I wanted. I can’t thank Elizabeth enough for creating such a fantastic experience for us!
HIGHLY recommend visiting Lovely Bride DC when wedding dress shopping! The location in Georgetown is easy to get to and on a historical road. Prior to your intimate hour-long session, you get to favorite and choose different dresses that you will try on (this also helps your consultant get a better understanding for your style). The quality of all the dresses were much better than another dress shop I visited prior to my LB appointment. The space is small but the layout works perfectly for multiple small groups. It’s also very well decorated- something I appreciated when I said YES to my dress and obviously had to take some pictures. 🙂
When I first walked up to the shop, I was immediately impressed. The storefront is stunning! My stylist Danielle was the sweetest and most accommodating to my Mom, MIL and maid of honor. She greeted us at the door and brought us back to the most gorgeous private room. Their aesthetic is EVERYTHING! Totally my vibe, all the other bridal salons I’ve been to (Carine’s, Modern Trousseau, Nordstrom, Kleinfelds) have a very stuffy old school bridal feel. I felt so in my element trying on all their beautiful gowns, Danielle helped me in and out of the gowns and accessorized my look with some really unique pieces. She even let me try on some absolutely amazing Indie designer gowns that weren’t my in my wedding vision, but I felt the need to rule out. Needless to say I said “Yes!!” to the dress (Alexandra Grecco fan girl for life!) and had my magical moment with the people closest to me. I honestly can’t recommend this wonderful shop enough! Danielle made sure my day was perfect, she even had florist & undergarment recommendations (I mean they clearly know what they are doing, just look at the front door!!). My experience at Lovely Bride DC was just that, absolutely Lovely.

We were greeted by Elizabeth, who was so sweet and fun to work with. She helped me try on a bunch of different dresses and was so patient with me. When I finally found one I loved, she took all my measurements even though I told her I wouldn’t be purchasing one that day since I had other appointments set up the following day that I still wanted to go to. She did not once put any pressure on me and I could tell she just genuinely wanted me to be happy with whatever gown I decided to go with. We came back 2 days later once I had made my final decision, and we worked with the owner who was absolutely fabulous! She was so kind and professional and made the buying processes very seamless. I was fortunate enough to have the owner Danielle as my consultant and I felt like she was able to read me so well and provided the experience my family really wanted that day. I had already fell in love with two/three styles and was eager to try on more and maybe find something that was a perfect balance of all the aspects of the dresses that I loved. When I saw that Lovely Bride was having a Made With Love trunk show, I wanted to scream with excitement. Unfortunately, as soon as I had found out, upon attempting to book an appointment online, I realized that they had no more appointments available during the week of the trunk show. I was devastated. So, I called the shop directly and asked if it was possible at all to be put on a waitlist or anything that would allow me a chance to go to the trunk show and I explained how badly I wanted to be able to be there. The stylist I spoke with over the phone excitedly told me that she had a couple appointments that she could offer me and of course, I accepted.
I had my appointment mid November and my aunt accompanied me. Like I said, this wasn’t my first time visiting a bridal shop and I pretty much knew exactly what I wanted to try on and what I was ultimately looking for. Danielle, the manager, was my stylist for my appointment and she was AMAZING. She made me feel at home, she gave me her honest thoughts and she was also straight-forward with me. I felt very comfortable at Lovely Bride and with Danielle as my stylist.
The best part, I ultimately found my dress.
Their dresses are a little pricier than they would have been closer to my home in Richmond, but the experience made it worth it for me. With the trunk sale going on, I also received a special discount, which I only found out about when I went to “check out.” That was just a bonus!

The stylist I spoke with over the phone excitedly told me that she had a couple appointments that she could offer me and of course, I accepted.
I had my appointment mid November and my aunt accompanied me. Like I said, this wasn’t my first time visiting a bridal shop and I pretty much knew exactly what I wanted to try on and what I was ultimately looking for. Danielle, the manager, was my stylist for my appointment and she was AMAZING. She made me feel at home, she gave me her honest thoughts and she was also straight-forward with me. I felt very comfortable at Lovely Bride and with Danielle as my stylist.
The best part, I ultimately found my dress.
Their dresses are a little pricier than they would have been closer to my home in Richmond, but the experience made it worth it for me. With the trunk sale going on, I also received a special discount, which I only found out about when I went to “check out.” That was just a bonus!
All in all, I strongly recommend Lovely Bride. Skip the other shops, and just book an appointment with them. You know you want to and you won’t regret it!
I had the most wonderful experience at Lovely Bride DC! Tabitha was wonderful at getting to know me and what I did/didn’t love when it came to a wedding dress. Patient throughout the appointment and actually recommended I try the dress that I eventually said “yes” too (I was hesitant, but the experts knew best 🙂 )! My dress arrived in a timely manner and the team was really flexible on pick up times. I can’t recommend Lovely Bride DC more!

parking guide
Georgetown is a busy shopping destination, so if you are driving we recommend you leave some time to find parking. There are metered parking spaces available on Wisconsin Avenue and two hour parking is available on the residential side streets. Side streets tend to have more availability, and as a bonus, you can wander among Georgetown's gorgeous and historic homes.
