this experience has been a whirlwind. When I first found my dress, I had multiple arguments with the girl who was helping me and the manager about sizing. They were saying they were going to order two sizes bigger than I tried on (which was already alittle big) due to their “sizing measurements” we went back and forth for and they ended up ordering a size 14 dress for me. (I am usually a 4 in US sizing). Moving forward, my dress ended up being 2 months late and WAY TOO BIG. Which is exactly what I was worried about. It was so big that they could not even alter the dress and had to make me a new one. I ended up getting a new sized dress (1 month before my wedding) which left me limited time to get alterations. My dress is now still too big on me and we did not have enough time to fix all the alterations. While they worked with me to get a new dress (which came with the front seem ripped), they refused to to compensate me with any additional request as simple as helping with the alteration cost or even giving a complementary scarf (or literally anything) due to all the stress, lack of communication, my dress being late and so forth. After many emails back and forth I was told that the money I gave for my dress was taken by the previous owner and they had to pay out of pocket for my new dress (unfortunately that is not my problem) and I should not be penalized due their owner taking my money. This has truly ruined my entire experience with my wedding dress and has caused so much stress before my wedding. I now have a dress too big that I have to use pads and tape to try and get it to fit. I have several other people who have had similar situations from lovely bride so just be aware when ordering certain dresses, especially intricate ones and DO YOUR OWN MEASURING BEFORE!
Lovely bride in Arizona helped me so much and I will say they were incredible with helping me remeasure and keep hope for the second dress. However, I just felt that after all the stories I’ve heard, it seems this is a pattern and it is not fair for brides to have to worry about this during their wedding journey. I am beyond thankful they helped me get a second dress but unfortunately I still got left paying for a dress that does not fit properly with the lack of time we had & there’s nothing to do about it at this point.

Melissa and the whole Lovely Bride team were absolutely incredible. I went in with no idea what I wanted, and she did an amazing job of guiding me through the process. She made me feel confident and beautiful and adjusted to my style changes really well. I am not a big shopper, but the team made this fun and exciting for me, which really set the tone for my entire experience. The website was also super easy to navigate before the appointment and gave us a really good jumping off point. I ultimately decided to go with a different dress, but it was a really tough decision and I am so grateful I started my dress shopping journey here.

Where do I even start? I went into Lovely Bride DC a little nervous — as a Black woman with tattoos, I wasn’t sure if my vibe would translate or if they’d even have dresses that felt like me. I could not have been more wrong.
From the moment I walked in, I felt completely at home. Caitlin, who greeted us, was an absolute gem — warm, attentive, and so easy to be around. We arrived a little early and she made us feel so welcome right from the jump. Even taking my measurements felt totally comfortable because of how effortlessly she put me at ease.
Then I met my bridal stylist, Mycal Walker — and honestly, that’s when I knew this was the spot. Before we even touched a single gown, he sat down and asked me all the right questions. The kind of questions that told me immediately he has serious experience and genuine expertise. He just got it. He got me.
And then? First dress he pulled — I said “this might be it.” That energy carried through the entire appointment. All hits, zero misses. Mycal is a consummate professional and a beautiful human being, and by the end I was joking that both he and Caitlin were getting wedding invites — and honestly, I meant it.

I am giving 5 stars solely because the much-needed new management stepped in and made sure I wasn’t without a dress for my wedding.
Similar to several other brides who have recently shared their experiences with Lovely Bride DC, getting my dress became an incredibly stressful process, at least up until the past couple of weeks.
First, I want to say that my experience finding my dress was wonderful. Caitlin was warm, knowledgeable, and truly made the appointment feel special. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience during that part of the process. Unfortunately, everything that followed was a completely different story.
I ordered my dress in early November and was told I needed to place the order with rush production for my June 2026 wedding. I was given an estimated delivery timeline of late March. When that date came and went, I reached out for an update and received no response. After following up again, I was told delivery dates are only estimates and that they would contact order processing for more information.
Two more weeks passed with no communication, so I reached out yet again. After another lack of response, I sent a more direct email and finally received a call from Melissa on 4/29. We spoke again on 4/30, and I was told, “the good news is you have plenty of time,” despite the fact that I needed my dress ready in 6 weeks and I still needed alterations. I was also told the dress was expected to arrive the next day and that I could potentially pick it up that weekend. An appointment was even tentatively scheduled before being walked back with, “let’s wait until it’s actually here.”
By Saturday, I still hadn’t heard anything, so I reached out again and was told they do not receive packages over the weekend and that the store was closed until Wednesday, but that my dress was “on its way.”
At this point, on 5/6, I reached out again expressing how frustrated and concerned I was and asking whether I needed to begin looking for another dress altogether. I also contacted the designer directly. The designer called me the next day and informed me that my dress was made and would be shipped out that day. She also told me, “I don’t know when you placed the order, but we only received it a couple of weeks ago.” So despite months of waiting and repeated assurances from the previous staff at Lovely Bride that the dress was already on its way, the order had apparently not even been submitted to the designer until weeks prior.
I finally received a call that Saturday from Lovely Bride letting me know the dress had arrived, and I scheduled a pickup for Wednesday.
Then, thankfully, things changed. On Monday, I received a text from Lanie, the CEO and owner of the Lovely Bride brand, saying she would personally be in the office and that I could come pick up my dress Monday or Tuesday instead. I was able to go in Tuesday and finally pick-up my dress.
Lanie was incredibly kind, apologetic, and professional throughout the interaction. It’s very clear she recently stepped into a difficult situation and is actively trying to repair the damage done under previous management. She handled everything with grace and genuine care, and I am extremely grateful for her responsiveness and willingness to step in during what had become an incredibly stressful experience.
Lovely Bride has a strong reputation and a beautiful selection of dresses, which is why I chose them in the first place. While my experience was deeply disappointing for much of the process, the new leadership is working hard to turn things around, and I appreciate the effort Lanie has made to make things right in the end.

Gracey deserves all the stars!! I booked the appointment really last minute and no clue what I was looking for. Gracey made the experience so easy and made me really exciting to try on dresses. Danielle and Lovely Bride DC truly provided the best dress shopping experience! This was my fourth bridal shop I had visited and by far the best. The dresses were so stunning (I bought my wedding dress here!) and Danielle was so kind, attentive, and flexible with my requests while trying dresses on. The shop is beautiful and there was only one other bride in the store at the same time as me which was so nice compared to other stores that had less privacy. So excited to pick up my dress here this summer!

This was my first appointment ever and I came in with a few nerves and Sydney quickly helped me feel so comfortable. She listened to my likes and dislikes and brought out some really beautiful dresses.
Lovely has such a wide array of dresses in all different styles and sizes and I found that the 90 minutes was a perfect length of time to figure out what I liked and disliked. I will 100% recommend Lovely to any DC brides I know!

I cannot say enough great things about Lovely and specifically Kierra, the associate. I walked in with no idea, but walked out with a selected gown. The process was so enjoyable and Kierra provided so much comfort and knowledge. Every step of the process from selection, to ordering, to pickup was just smooth. Best case scenario: I came to Lovely Bride to try on wedding dresses for the first time and I found my dress! The shop itself is super cute and inviting and I was able to bring three guests with me for my appointment (which is the perfect amount in my opinion.) I was lucky enough to have TWO bridal consultants work with me – one was newer so another stylist was working with her in tandem. They both seemed genuinely excited to pull the dresses I was interested in and there was no pressure to try on or show a dress that I didn’t love. I felt super comfortable with them in the dressing room with me to help me into the dresses… and I definitely would not have been able to get into half of them without their help, lots of tulle to navigate! Once I narrowed it down to my top two dresses, they brought out a veil and accessories to give me the full picture. I am SO thrilled with my dress and the shopping experience was so easy and fun – I would recommend Lovely Bride to anyone looking for a unique dress that you won’t find at a traditional bridal shop. Can’t wait to come back in 6 months to pick up MY dress!

I recently had the most incredible experience at Lovely Bride DC, and I can’t recommend this bridal shop enough. From the moment I walked in with my mother, friend Janice, and friend Erica (both maids of honor), along with my matron of honor and my aunt (both on FaceTime), the atmosphere was welcoming and the music selection was top tier. While they don’t offer champagne, the BYO option adds a personal touch. The dress selection is outstanding, and Michelle, our stylist, made the experience truly special.
Michelle’s enthusiasm and friendliness put me at ease. The first dress she picked out was THE dress, and I couldn’t be happier. Even as I tried on other beautiful gowns, I kept coming back to that initial choice. Lovely Bride DC stands out not only for its stunning dresses but also for its clean, hip, and inviting ambiance.

I had such a wonderful experience at Lovely Bride DC! Everything about it was perfect, the space was fun, cozy, and inviting, and they had such an amazing collection of beautiful dresses. My stylist, Elizabeth, really made the entire experience. From the very start she was so invested in finding my perfect dress. We had a detailed initial discussion where she asked my about my wedding design, the venue, time of year, and the details I was looking for in a gown. From that and my wishlist, she selected the perfect set of dresses for me to try on and every single one was such a good contender and matched well with my vision. She was super helpful with try-ons and answering all my questions and she really took my feedback into consideration. I found my absolute perfect dress and felt so confident and sure of my decision and I really have Elizabeth to thank for all of that. She even helped me pick an amazing veil that complimented my dress so well. Cannot recommend this shop enough! They are so invested in you and making sure your day is perfect!

I highly recommend Lovely Bride and the consultant I worked with, Elizabeth! This was the first place I visited to try on wedding dresses, and I ended up finding the one and returning. Elizabeth was incredible at listening to all my thoughts, what I liked or didn’t like about a dress, and then using that to pull amazing options. She is definitely the reason I found my perfect dress and veil! I could not recommend her or the environment at Lovely Bride more!

I really enjoyed my experience with my consultant, Elizabeth, and would recommend her to other brides as well!
She was friendly, actively listened to what I wanted, and in the end, we found a dress I love. I really appreciated her effort to pull dresses in my price range while also aligning with the style I thought would flatter me best. In the end, it was a tough decision between great options and a lovely appointment.

I had such a great experience at Lovely Bride DC. Every stylist I interacted with was so professional and kind. They truly listened and made me feel so comfortable. My dress ended up being the third one I tried on! I appreciated how communicative the shop was and how easy it was to schedule fittings and pick-up. So many gorgeous options here – highly recommend!

I went to probably 10 different shops around DC and Baltimore and most of the dresses felt like upholstery and had a cheap look. Like they went to Joanne Fabrics or Michaels and made dresses. Every dress I put on at Lovely felt like the price was worth it. A higher standard, a higher cut. Let me be clear, I am on a strict budget, I’m plus sized and I’m quirky, I wasn’t sure that a Georgetown location could help me out but I found the dress of my dreams. The dress that sparked joy. The dress I couldn’t get out of my head.

I had the most amazing experience at Lovely Bride DC and found the one during my first appointment! The team does a great job making the entire experience seamless and so that you feel well-prepared prior to your appointment. The shop is absolutely stunning and my consultant, Elizabeth, was amazing and executed perfect service!! She did a wonderful job making me feel comfortable throughout the appointment and truly listened to each thing I liked/disliked about each dress I tried on. She worked her magic and pulled the right dresses for me to try on until I found the one! I cannot recommend this shop enough!

I loved my experience with Lovely Bride! I was nervous going into my appointment and not completely sure what I wanted, having tried on a bunch of styles at other stores, but Elizabeth took my jumbled thoughts and came back with several wonderful options. Little did I know the first one I tried would be the one!! The store is beautiful and so comfortable for family and friends who want to join you on your visit, and the fact that there was only one other bride in the store at the same time as me really made me feel like I had their full attention (not to mention cutting down on chaos!)
Elizabeth and Danielle were so helpful in addressing all my questions before I officially said yes–they were so patient and candid and I never felt like there was pressure from them to buy quickly.
I don’t have any plans to buy another wedding dress (ha!) but if I did, I would go back to Lovely in a heartbeat.

This bridal shop is beautifully decorated, and the staff was welcoming. I had the opportunity to work with Elizabeth as my stylist during my time at Lovely Bride. She started the appointment by asking about my vision, looking at the venue to get a feel for what I was going for, and we even looked at my photographer’s website. She then talked to me about the dresses I had identified as “my favorites” on my online profile and walked me through what I could expect which each gown. Elizabeth has incredible attention to detail and knows what to ask to better understand how you feel in each dress. She listened to how I felt about each dress and style and brought in different dresses based on the feedback I shared. She was great to work with and helped me find the dress I wanted. I can’t thank Elizabeth enough for creating such a fantastic experience for us!

HIGHLY recommend visiting Lovely Bride DC when wedding dress shopping! The location in Georgetown is easy to get to and on a historical road. Prior to your intimate hour-long session, you get to favorite and choose different dresses that you will try on (this also helps your consultant get a better understanding for your style). The quality of all the dresses were much better than another dress shop I visited prior to my LB appointment. The space is small but the layout works perfectly for multiple small groups. It’s also very well decorated- something I appreciated when I said YES to my dress and obviously had to take some pictures. 🙂

When I first walked up to the shop, I was immediately impressed. The storefront is stunning! My stylist Danielle was the sweetest and most accommodating to my Mom, MIL and maid of honor. She greeted us at the door and brought us back to the most gorgeous private room. Their aesthetic is EVERYTHING! Totally my vibe, all the other bridal salons I’ve been to (Carine’s, Modern Trousseau, Nordstrom, Kleinfelds) have a very stuffy old school bridal feel. I felt so in my element trying on all their beautiful gowns, Danielle helped me in and out of the gowns and accessorized my look with some really unique pieces. She even let me try on some absolutely amazing Indie designer gowns that weren’t my in my wedding vision, but I felt the need to rule out. Needless to say I said “Yes!!” to the dress (Alexandra Grecco fan girl for life!) and had my magical moment with the people closest to me. I honestly can’t recommend this wonderful shop enough! Danielle made sure my day was perfect, she even had florist & undergarment recommendations (I mean they clearly know what they are doing, just look at the front door!!). My experience at Lovely Bride DC was just that, absolutely Lovely.

I had an exceptional experience purchasing my engagement party dress from Lovely Bride, DC! From booking my appointment, to executing my vision, Lovely Bride made what is typically a stressful process, a breeze. The store is beautiful, the designer and size selections are vast and inclusive and the owner makes sure your experience is unforgettable. I will absolutely be returning for my wedding day. Absolutely 100% recommend Lovely Bride DC if you are looking for a bridal shop. Kylie made the experience here even more incredible between her attention to detail, openness, styling experience and LOVELY personality. She was open and honest without ever overstepping and listened to everything my family and I had to say as well. By the end of it, I felt like Kylie was a friend that came to help me find my wedding dress and she succeeded in bringing my entire bridal vision come to life. I immediately shared with a friend what a great experience I had and am excited for her to go to the NYC location. The entire vibe and service is perfect.

I had the most amazing experience at Lovely Bride in DC. For starters, the store itself is so beautiful. As soon as we got there we knew we were going to have an incredible experience. We were greeted by Elizabeth, who was so sweet and fun to work with. She helped me try on a bunch of different dresses and was so patient with me. When I finally found one I loved, she took all my measurements even though I told her I wouldn’t be purchasing one that day since I had other appointments set up the following day that I still wanted to go to. She did not once put any pressure on me and I could tell she just genuinely wanted me to be happy with whatever gown I decided to go with. We came back 2 days later once I had made my final decision, and we worked with the owner who was absolutely fabulous! She was so kind and professional and made the buying processes very seamless. Overall, we had a great experience here. They have a wonderful selection and amazing staff! I highly recommend going here if you’re in the DMV!

I can go on and on how awesome my whole process has been with Lovely Bride in DC. My appointment was everything and more, especially with Elizabeth. She was so KIND, patient, fun, and relatable. I felt so comfortable with her from the start and she totally mesh in well with my sisters. Elizabeth made my version of my dream dress come true with helping me add on some fun accessories. I said yes to the dress during my appointment and the check out process was SO easy.
Sad to see my wedding dress shopping adventure come to an end. Even though this was the only shop I went to and I traveled 4 hours just to come to Lovely Bridal DC. 10/10 experience and so excited to wear my dress on my special day!

I said YES to the dress at Lovely Bride DC with Danielle 11/10/21 @11am. The Sarah Seven VIVI is the dress for me! The shop is just gorgeous. I wanted to thank Danielle for making the experience for me and my family a great one. I appreciate her being flexible with allowing my two moms and twin sisters in the shop. Danielle is a rock star and made us feel so comfortable. She is beautiful, sweet and easy going which helped to make the experience so delightful. Thank you so much for your help! Even living in Vermont and having the dress shipped to my house Danielle has been with me every step of the way. Staying in touch and replying quickly to all my questions. I can’t say enough good things about my experience at LovelyBride in Georgetown!! Gorgeous shop, personalized, professional, and overall phenomenal experience. I was fortunate enough to have the owner Danielle as my consultant and I felt like she was able to read me so well and provided the experience my family really wanted that day. I went to another salon right after I left lovely bride and the dresses and service just didn’t even compare. I said yes to the dress immediately and cancelled all my future appointments, and I’m so so excited to be a lovely bride!!!

I wanted to visit Lovely Bride from the moment I heard about them. I just knew it was my bridal shop and I knew I would find my dress with them.
I knew from some previous bridal shop experiences that I wanted a dress by Made With Love. I had already fell in love with two/three styles and was eager to try on more and maybe find something that was a perfect balance of all the aspects of the dresses that I loved. When I saw that Lovely Bride was having a Made With Love trunk show, I wanted to scream with excitement. Unfortunately, as soon as I had found out, upon attempting to book an appointment online, I realized that they had no more appointments available during the week of the trunk show. I was devastated. So, I called the shop directly and asked if it was possible at all to be put on a waitlist or anything that would allow me a chance to go to the trunk show and I explained how badly I wanted to be able to be there. The stylist I spoke with over the phone excitedly told me that she had a couple appointments that she could offer me and of course, I accepted.
I had my appointment mid November and my aunt accompanied me. Like I said, this wasn’t my first time visiting a bridal shop and I pretty much knew exactly what I wanted to try on and what I was ultimately looking for. Danielle, the manager, was my stylist for my appointment and she was AMAZING. She made me feel at home, she gave me her honest thoughts and she was also straight-forward with me. I felt very comfortable at Lovely Bride and with Danielle as my stylist.
The best part, I ultimately found my dress.
Their dresses are a little pricier than they would have been closer to my home in Richmond, but the experience made it worth it for me. With the trunk sale going on, I also received a special discount, which I only found out about when I went to “check out.” That was just a bonus!
All in all, I strongly recommend Lovely Bride. Skip the other shops, and just book an appointment with them. You know you want to and you won’t regret it!

I had the most wonderful experience at Lovely Bride DC! Tabitha was wonderful at getting to know me and what I did/didn’t love when it came to a wedding dress. Patient throughout the appointment and actually recommended I try the dress that I eventually said “yes” too (I was hesitant, but the experts knew best 🙂 )! My dress arrived in a timely manner and the team was really flexible on pick up times. I can’t recommend Lovely Bride DC more!

Georgetown is a busy shopping destination, so if you are driving we recommend you leave some time to find parking. There are metered parking spaces available on Wisconsin Avenue and two hour parking is available on the residential side streets. Side streets tend to have more availability, and as a bonus, you can wander among Georgetown’s gorgeous and historic homes.
