Tell us about you and Andy as a couple.
Andy and I met on Instagram. Our first date was lunch at a sports bar on NYE of 2017 and we’ve seen each other every day since! We’re pretty laid back, so our relationship was basically built on pizza dates and The Office (and still is). We love traveling, working on our house, breakfast dates and hanging with our dog + loved ones. He’s my best friend!
How did he propose?
We went on a trip to San Francisco in November of 2017. On the first day, we planned to go to the Muir Woods, but instead got extremely lost and ended up at Muir Beach. It was really foggy and peaceful, we were basically the only ones there. Well, except for one guy playing his guitar at the edge of the cliff. As we got closer, I realized that he was actually playing our song “You are the best thing” and that’s when I realized what was happening/freaking out. Before I knew it, Andy was on one knee asking me to be his wife.
We’re in love with all of the fun unique details you included on your big day. Tell us about your wedding vision!
My vision was something bohemian and tropical, but dark and moody. I love nature, so an indoor wedding was never an option for us. I wanted a unique space with lots of greenery and our venue was the perfect hidden tropical oasis I was looking for. We used a color scheme that matched our home decor, neutrals and dark/bold colors. We incorporated some travel inspired details, such as a vintage atlas sign-in book and luggage tags for the seating chart. All the little details are what made it feel tailored to us and that made it so special.
What was your favorite part of your wedding? What will you remember most about your wedding in 10 years?
Our first look!! We were both so nervous and couldn’t wait to see each other that day. The second Andy turned around, we both started crying and I’ll never forget that perfect moment. So many emotions but also a huge sense of relief. It made us both feel so much more relaxed for the ceremony. It’s definitely one of my favorite memories.
How did you know your Willowby ‘Sage’ gown was the one?
I tried on about 40 dresses at different shops before finding “the one”. I knew I wanted something long sleeve and lace from the very beginning. Carina at the Miami location helped me try on all the dresses, she was the sweetest and so helpful!! We left “the one” for last and when I finally tried it on, everyone kind of knew that was it. It fit perfectly and really complimented my body type. My mom immediately got emotional, which made me so emotional, which left me with no choice but to say yes!
Any wedding dress shopping advice for our future Lovelies?
Go with a vision in mind, but don’t be too focused on an exact dress. You may find something slightly different that works better for you. Finding the perfect dress may take time and that’s okay. Try on a bunch of dresses and have fun with it!!
