Cozy Elopement Inspiration at a Denver Airbnb

Let’s be honest, finding the perfect venue to say ‘I Do’  can be stressful AF. Luckily, #OurLovelies are always thinking outside the box.

Exhibit A: This styled shoot featuring our Lovely Bride x Jenny Yoo ‘Finley’ gown from Lovely Bride Denver. The cozy elopement inspiration took place at an Airbnb and proves with the right setup you can have a beautiful wedding almost anywhere. Consider us inspired x 100. We just love how intimate and romantic it all feels. From the floral installation on the minimal fireplace to the retro sweetheart table with handmade ceramics, this crew of vendors nailed every detail.

Check out tips from the team for how to create an in-home ceremony below.

Photographer Karra Leigh said, ‘I love the idea of having an intimate Airbnb elopement for so many reasons! It keeps your guest count low, it’s usually a more affordable wedding weekend, and there will be plenty of time to spend with the people who come in town to celebrate. You can get ready together and start and end the day together. Scouting out the perfect Airbnb means a unique venue space that the couple can really make their own for a weekend.’

Airbnbs can also be an amazing canvas to make a statement with your flowers. Brianna Dell of Hazel Avenue Floral said, ‘Adding floral installations can add so much magic to any non-traditional wedding space. You can pick a space that you’re drawn to the most and want to spend the most time in together and add a ton of romance and character with florals (or greenery, whatever you like). You can really customize the home feel like your own beautiful oasis. Find a structure that you want to emphasize, like a fireplace or cool patio. Anything that a florist can attach an installation to can make for a floating installation, like a pergola, canopy bed (or regular bed frame) rustic beams or industrial bars on a high ceiling. But don’t despair if these aren’t available- florists are innovative and can pretty much build flowers onto any space you want them. Just keep in mind if there is extreme hot or cold, that outdoor installations might not last as long- indoor florals in controlled temperatures will have the longest lifespan.’

Amanda Bernardi of Hunt & Gather designed the house that the shoot took place in, so of course she had great advice on renting an Airbnb for your wedding. She said, ‘renting an Airbnb is likely to happen at some point in your wedding festivities from bachelorette parties to engagement parties to getting ready with your girls, but you can also rent one for the main event. Here are my top three benefits of an airbnb rental for your wedding venue. 1. Keep it Simple. Choosing your venue is the one decision that dictates date, time, and size of your wedding. With an Airbnb rental, you’re in control of all three. You can book based on your schedule and not feel rushed by someone else’s timeline. Have a large wedding? Look for a rental with a big yard or several rentals in a row that share a common space. Looking to curtail that guest list, choose a cozy bungalow or loft to keep the party intimate. 2. You’ll know exactly what is in the space. It was once standard to have the wedding reception in a home, but now you get to pick which home fits best with you. Every space is detailed in it’s profile so you know exactly what is provided in each rental. You can get a list from your caterer and other vendors as to what they might need in a venue and crosscheck your favorite rentals. 3. Choose what best fits your style.  You can curate the vibe around the coziness of your rental, choosing a space because the character matches your style or because it is a blank slate. To bring in your special touch, you can work with a local boutique rental or staging company to curate the space to your needs. Just take a photo of where all of the pieces where when you arrived in case you need to move them to a unused room for your ceremony or reception set-up. Always remember to clear the event with the hosts before your book your rental. Some hosts might not want so many bodies in their space but most will want to help accommodate and lead you towards good local vendors who can bring the event to life.’
