9 to 12 months before your wedding
For a stress-free timeline, plan on ordering your dress 9 to 12 months prior to your wedding date. Your dress is made-to-order and can take up to 5 to 7 months to produce, plus 2 to 3 months for tailoring. There are rush options if your wedding is sooner, but rush fees do apply and vary based on designer and timeline.
The majority of our dresses range from $2,500 – $4,000.
Our dress assortment varies by store, but prices range from $2,000 – $6,000, with the majority at $2,500 – $4,000. If you have questions about a specific designer’s price range, please visit our DESIGNERS page for a more thorough price breakdown.

Short answer: Yes!
So that we can give each bride our undivided attention, all Lovely shops are by-appointment only, and cannot accommodate walk-ins. We require private appointments to try on both wedding gowns and accessories. Click HERE to book your appointment.
Yes, we charge an appointment fee.
Due to the tailored service you get from a dedicated stylist and the delicate nature of our gowns, our shops charge a service fee for our one-on-one Bridal Appointments. This appointment type is for when you are ready to get serious about us and saying “yes” to the one. In full transparency, you will see the charge noted on the appointment type before you book at your desired location.
Any cancellation after 48 hours of initial booking will not be refunded.
Our cancellation policy allows you to receive a full refund if you: 1) cancel within 48 hours of initial appointment booking and 2) email the Lovely shop location of your eligible cancellation for a full refund. Any appointment canceled after 48 hours of initial booking will not be refunded. If you book a last-minute appointment opening that is 48 hours out or less, you are not eligible for a refund.
Before you book your appointment, start with your wishlist!
Visit our DRESSES page to create a login to view the dresses at your Lovely location. “Heart” 5 – 10 of your favorite gowns. If you make this wishlist before your appointment, it will save to your appointment profile. Then, navigate back to lovelybride.com to book your appointment HERE. This will help us get started in the selection process. Your stylist may also have additional recommendations that you will love.
Create the complete picture.
It is helpful to bring undergarments of similar styles that you will wear on your wedding day, like nude seamless underwear, a strapless bra, or shapewear. Bring anything that will help you feel the most comfortable while trying on dresses. It’s also great to bring heels of a height that you will wear for your wedding, so you can get the complete picture when dress shopping.
3 or less is the way to go.
You need only a few opinions that truly matter and you don’t want to add confusion. Our stylists are very good at finding you a perfect dress and want you to be ready to both try and buy, so confirm your VIPs can join you IRL or virtually. We are pros at video chatting your loved ones so they can be a part of the process even if they aren’t physically in the shop.
If you have a larger group, we recommend booking our Lovelier Bridal Gown Journey or Loveliest Bridal Gown Experience appointment types so you can include everyone!
When you buy your wedding dress.
Locking down your accessories the day you buy your dress is the smartest way to buy, since you have seen the entire look together after your stylist has mimicked what your dress alterations will look like with our pins and clips. Most accessories take 3 to 4 months to produce but some are sold right off the rack, so when they are gone they are gone. This is all to say, when you have put together the look with the help of a trusted stylist, it’s best to say yes then.
Waiting is the hardest part!
We send our brides away with an estimated ship date after placing the order. Please keep in mind that “estimated” is a key word here. Skilled artisans are carefully crafting your gown before it is safely transported to us. We’ll reach out to you when your gown arrives and is prepared for pickup or shipping. This typically occurs within 2-4 weeks of the estimated ship date (1-2 weeks if you ordered with a rush). We pinky promise it’s worth the wait!
Hard yes – every wedding dress needs alterations!
When ordering, your personal stylist will guide you through choosing a size on the designer’s size chart that’s closest to you – setting you up for the best starting point possible for alterations. Remember that a stress-free timeline for alterations is 2 to 3 months. If you are working on a short timeline, your stylist can refer you to third-party tailors that can accommodate you.
A Lovely recommended third-party tailor.
We do not tailor in our stores. We prefer that you visit one of our RECOMMENDED TAILORS. We don’t have any required alterations packages, which means you only pay for what you need to have done to make your gown fit like a glove. Make sure you factor in these third-party fees, which could range from $700 – $1,000+, when budgeting for your gown.
We do our best to accommodate as many beautiful body types as possible with our sample dresses.
For this reason, the majority of our samples are sizes 10 – 12 and all stores have a selection of sample gowns in sizes 14 – 22. Since our samples will not be an exact fit for most, we use clips, pins, and modesty panels. This will give you the vision of how our dresses will fit when they are tailored to you.
