New York Bridal Fashion Week Trends Team Lovely Can’t Stop Talking About
Team Lovely's notes from New York Bridal Fashion Week
We're back from New York with full camera rolls and a long list of favorites! The New York Bridal Fashion Week trends we loved most were soft skirts that float when you move, pops of pink, bridal separates, romantic lace, and pleated fabric that makes a classic silhouette feel brand new.
Every April and October, Lovely Bride's buyers head to New York Bridal Fashion Week (NYBFW) to meet independent designers and find the collections that will land in our shops. Since each Lovely Bride boutique carries its own selection, what we spot on the runway helps shape what you'll be able to try on when you walk in for your appointment.
Below you'll find each trend, who we think will love it, and how to ask your stylist for it. When something makes you pause, head to our DRESSES page, see every gown with pricing at your nearest Lovely Bride, and heart it into your wishlist.
SOFT SKIRTS
Skirts this season moved with every step. Full tulle poured into sweeping trains, layered organza caught the light, and chiffon A-lines swayed beneath ruched bodices. Even the most structured corset tops ended in something airy below the waist.
If you're picturing a dance floor that stays full all night or a garden ceremony with a breeze, a soft skirt was made for you. Ask your Lovely stylist to pair a fitted bodice with a full tulle or organza skirt, then give it a spin in the mirror.

POPS OF PINK AT NEW YORK BRIDAL FASHION WEEK
Blush showed up all over the runway, and we are so here for it. One strapless blush ball gown had a pleated bodice, a skinny pink ribbon at the waist, and a full tulle skirt. Another paired spaghetti straps and a corset bodice with a gathered skirt and a long train. Our favorite twist layered white floral lace appliqué over pink tulle, so the color glows through the lace.
If you want color to feel personal and soft, pink is a sweet place to start. A full blush gown makes a confident statement, and a pink underlay beneath ivory lace keeps the warmth close and reads gently in photos. Try both, and it's totally okay to fall for the one you didn't expect.

BRIDAL SEPARATES
A top and a skirt made to be worn together or mixed means your look can change with your day. On the runway we spotted an ivory satin corset bustier with a straight neckline and thin straps over a fitted column skirt, finished with cream lace appliqué at the waist and hem. Right next to it was a matching corset top and mini skirt set, worn with pale blue pointed pumps for a built-in something blue.
Separates are a great match if you'd love a ceremony look and a party look without a full outfit change: keep the top, swap the skirt, and head to the dance floor. They also make fit and styling easy to talk through with your stylist, piece by piece.
P.S. That mini set has rehearsal dinner and after-party written all over it, if you ask us.

ROMANTIC LACE
Lace felt romantic and personal this time around. We saw a high lace mock-neck collar with a keyhole cutout and flared sleeves edged in scallops, an off-the-shoulder A-line with scalloped trim at the neckline and sleeves, and strapless sweetheart gowns finished in fine eyelash lace. Several looks carried that lace right into the veil, with lace-trimmed edges and even beaded tassels.
If a vintage wedding photo of your grandparents makes your heart skip, lace will feel like home. It comes in lots of personalities, from delicate eyelash edges to bold floral appliqué, so tell your stylist which detail made you stop scrolling and they'll pull gowns to match.

PLEATED FABRIC
Pleats turned up in crisp rows on a full taffeta skirt, along the top edge of a straight neckline, and as pressed folds wrapping a corset bodice before dropping into a gathered skirt. They paired beautifully with the drop waists we kept spotting, drawing the eye down the bodice and into all of the volume below.
Pleated fabric gives a gown shape and texture without a single bead, so it's a lovely match if you love clean lines and a little drama in the same dress. Every fold catches light and shadow differently, which means pleats show real depth in photos, from the ceremony aisle to your first dance.
