When and how did you get your start as a designer?

I’ve been fortunate to spend over 15 years working in the bridal industry, learning from some incredibly talented designers and meeting hundreds of wonderful brides along the way. Those experiences shaped not only how I design, but how I believe the whole bridal journey should feel.

Laura Carmel Bridal was born from a desire to create something more personal—beautifully crafted gowns that celebrate modern femininity without chasing trends. Every collection is designed with longevity in mind, balancing timeless elegance with contemporary design.

Where do you find design inspiration?

I’m inspired by so many things: fashion, architecture, travel, art, but I’m always drawn back to the beauty of the female form. I love combining clean, modern silhouettes with soft draping, beautiful fabrics and thoughtful details.

I focus on creating pieces that feel elegant, effortless, and that a bride will still love when she looks back at her wedding photos years from now.

Describe the Laura Carmel bride

She’s confident, stylish, and knows what she likes, but she’s not looking to wear a dress just because it’s fashionable. She wants something that feels authentic to her.

Offering fully customisable gowns is also at the heart of what I do, giving every bride the opportunity to create a dress that feels uniquely hers.

She appreciates beautiful craftsmanship and loves understated luxury. Most of all, she wants to feel comfortable, confident and like the very best version of herself on her wedding day.

What do you love most about the design process?

For me, it begins with an idea—often a silhouette or a fabric that sparks something. I love watching that initial sketch evolve through draping, pattern cutting, and multiple fittings until it becomes exactly what I imagined.

The most rewarding part is seeing how a gown transforms when it’s worn. Witnessing that confidence and emotion is what makes it all worthwhile.

What’s your best wedding dress shopping advice for Our Lovelies?

Try to stay true to yourself. It’s easy to become overwhelmed by social media, trends and other people’s opinions.

Choose a boutique where you feel relaxed (Lovely Bride of course!) , trust the expertise of your stylist and keep an open mind—you may fall in love with something completely unexpected. Most importantly, remember that your wedding dress should feel like the very best version of you, not someone else.
