Now that Black Friday and Cyber Monday have past, we are thrilled to kick off our philanthropy partnership on #GivingTuesday, a movement that started in 2012 to kick off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Lovely is honored to announce our partnership with Vow, a new initiative working to end child marriage around the globe. From today until the end of the year, 10% of all sales* of the ‘Theo’ gown will be donated to support this incredibly important cause. Get to know more about the organization below.
About Vow
Every year, an estimated 12 million girls are married before the age of 18. Some girls are as young as 8 or 9. Child marriage is happening across cultures, religions and countries. A wedding should be the happiest day of your life and for these girls it’s entirely the opposite. Instead of walking down the aisle to their soulmates, they are being forced into marriages with older men. Many times the girls are robbed of their future to complete their education or pursue a career that they have always dreamed of. They are also put at greater risk for domestic violence, disease, and often confined to a life of homemaking. Vow was created to give these girls a voice and a choice. Your ‘I Do’ can also give a girl the chance to say ‘I Don’t.’
