When Katherine Tash gowns and a team of incredible creatives come together, the result is MAGIC.

To celebrate our Katherine Tash Trunk Show, our Dallas store manager and accessories buyer, Lauren, put together the dreamiest shoot. I was excited as soon as she started telling me about her inspiration – blue sparkles, filmy vibes, & baby’s breath everywhere. I knew it would be such a dream. Lauren has such a gift for putting a unique spin on things. Luckily, her bestie is Valerie Thompson (the queen behind the camera) and together the two brought Lauren’s vision to life. I loved watching them work together behind the scenes.
Katherine Tash’s Wonderland Collection was made for the whimsical bride who is looking for something totally unique for the big day. We were all absolutely in awe over the dresses when we had our trunk show. Not to mention, Katherine Tash herself is such an amazing designer to work with. It’s obvious how much heart and soul she pours into her work.
One of my favorite things about Lovely is getting to work directly with our designers. It is so special getting to create personal connections with the people behind the gowns that are at our shops! So I thought – what better way to get to know Katherine Tash and her Wonderland Collection than a Q+A? Read below to see her inspiration behind the new collection and more.
P.S. Katherine Tash is available at Lovely Bride Houston, Lovely Bride London and Lovely Bride NYC. Want to see how these new styles look on Our Lovelies? Follow us on Instagram. Then, follow us on Pinterest to add these styles to your wedding inspo.
Meet Katherine Tash
Lovely: How long have you been designing wedding gowns?
KT: I began designing wedding gowns about 4 years ago, and officially launched my collection in early 2018.
Lovely: What was your inspiration behind the Wonderland Collection?
KT: My collections usually start with an emotion, rather than a true ‘theme’ and while I was designing Wonderland, I was in the mood to have fun and push the boundaries. As a designer I’m always thinking about a new way to approach what ‘bridal wear’ means, and how to tie that into what brides today are searching for. There’s such an overwhelming breadth of options on the market today, and I wanted to bring life into my own collection through color, rich textiles, unique treatments of fabrics, all while remaining true to our core of being a brand that presents wearable fashion pieces.
Lovely: How would you describe the Wonderland Collection in 3 words?
KT: Ethereal, Romantic, Whimsical
Lovely: If you could picture the Blue gown at any wedding destination, where would it be?
KT: Blue is definitely for the bold, unconventional bride. I originally designed this as a second look or the “party” look, but I think it’s perfect for an Italian coastal elopement.
Lovely: What is your favorite part of designing wedding gowns?
KT: I love designing an item of clothing that really stands still in time, and the idea that a bride is choosing to wear something I designed for such an important moment in their life – it doesn’t get better than that.
