Tell us about the dress and what inspired your look.
The look I was going for my entire wedding was a vintage and romantic theme. I felt that Lovely Bride embraced that look perfectly. The minute I walked into Lovely Bride Philadelphia, I knew I was going to be leaving with my dream dress. I was so inspired by the detail in every dress hanging in front of me. It was obvious that each dress had so much thought and precision put into it. The moment I tried my wedding dress on I truly died and went to heaven. I had never seen a dress so incredibly detailed. The beaded cap sleeves and full lace train took my breath away. I had done a lot of research before I went dress shopping, but when I tried on this Anna Campbell dress, it was perfection. The dress had an elastic waist, making it super comfortable and easy to move in. Comfort, along with beauty, was an important factor in finding THE perfect dress. The cap sleeves covered my shoulders with the most insanely beaded detail. The same detail wrapped around my ribcage and tied into a gorgeous bow in the back. The whole dress, top to bottom, was made of beautiful scalloped lace. It was fitting yet flowy in all the right places. The thought of having to take the dress off and hang it in my closet for the next nine months was devastating to me! I wanted to wear it all day, every day.
After saying yes to the most amazing wedding dress ever made, I began choosing details to pair with my gown. I paired my beautiful gown with a Lovely Bride cathedral veil edged in lace, along with sparkly Benjamin Adams shoes and drop earrings from BHLDN. On the day of my wedding shower, my mother surprised me with a blush pink clutch, made from my grandmother’s dress she wore the day my mother was married. Hanging from my bouquet, was a pendant of both sets of my deceased grandparents. There were so many memories with me on my wedding day.
What were the most important details to pulling off your dream wedding?
The most important detail of my dream wedding was our reception venue. Our wedding venue – The Windrift in Avalon, NJ – has a lot of meaning to my husband and I. Four years ago, Shawn captured my heart behind the bar on a busy Saturday night in the summer. Apparently, I captured his as I patiently waited for my drinks to be made to take to my tables. Before this night, we were fellow employees working a summer job for some extra cash. That July night, we fell for each other. Today, we are husband and wife, who wed in the same exact place we first fell in love four years ago. The Windrift will forever hold a special place in both of hearts. I wanted to put a ton of detail into our reception since we would be welcoming 185 guests into the place we first fell in love.
What was the most memorable moment?
The very beginning of the ceremony… Looking into the pews at all of the people there to see my husband and I wed, holding my father’s arm tightly, and gazing into my soon-to-be husband’s eyes at the end of the aisle. It was a moment that literally lasted less than 2 minutes. I wish I could relive that moment over and over again.
If you could give future brides any advice, what would it be?
Live in the moment. Smile. Laugh. Don’t stress on the little things. Embrace every single minute of the day. Invest in a videographer. Most importantly, relax and concentrate on what really matters. No one remembers the favors, the flavor of your cupcakes or your linen colors. What do they remember? Seeing you marry the man of your dreams.
