Tell us about the dress and what inspired your look.

I was unbelievably nervous for the day I would look for my wedding dress!  A girl dreams about this day.  When it finally arrives, it’s hard to wrap your mind around it, you almost feel unready.  I searched for a month online researching wedding dress shops in NYC.  I didn’t want anything that anybody had seen before.  I wanted my dress to have that WOW factor every woman wants!  I wanted a non traditional gown that had intricate beading, detail, and class.  Then I stumbled upon Lovely Bride.  The second I clicked onto the website I was in love!  I knew that this would be the place I would find my dream dress.  I honestly didn’t even look or book an appointment anywhere else.  When arriving that warm day in July, I was no longer nervous about being disappointed, I was excited!  Anna Campbell is by far my favorite wedding dress designer I have ever come across.  Her gowns are so uniquely intricate, classy, beautiful, and timeless. That day the first dress I put on was the dress I walked down the aisle in.  The Amity gown by Anna Campbell.  It has a beautiful simpleness to it in a way I always wanted.  It had the WOW factor without being too busy.  The back glistened like a chandelier and the silk was so feminine.  Silk is the most beautiful fabric and I’ve always adored it.  I have always been a person in love with the past and woman from recent times, so elegant and classic.  I knew I needed something that expressed that part of me and who I am.  This dress made me feel like I took a step back in time, and for that… I am forever grateful!

What were the most important details to pulling off your dream wedding?

The most important details to me were in the little things.  The things most people don’t initially think about but everyone notices and remembers that day.  I knew I wanted gold sugar on the blush champagne glasses, white silk gloves for the bridesmaids to match my dress, greek vines for their hair to balance my crown, birds nests to rest the rings, love birds in a vintage white cage as you entered the ceremony, turning vintage bird cages into hanging lanterns, elegant gold table number stands, all the little details that seem so minor in the grand scheme of things I have always had a passion for.  It’s the little things.

What was the most memorable moment?

The most memorable moment for me was 100 percent walking down the aisle.  I have never felt so much joy and nervousness in my entire life.  When my dad took my hand I officially had already lost it.  I cried the whole way down the aisle and I didn’t have a care in the world.  I always thought I would be worried about everyone around me and yet I didn’t even notice they were there.  Seeing my husband, tears rolling down his face, was the only face I remember.  When we said our vows I swear time stopped.  You know those corny scenes in movies where everyone in the room disappears and they are the only two there.  That is honestly how it felt.  The greatest man I know was looking back at me just the way I always dreamed.  So for me yes, the most cliche moment talked about is the most memorable, because it was the most incredible and important memory a woman can have.  The man you love more than anyone pledging himself and his life to you forever.

If you could give future brides any advice, what would it be?

Don’t regret!  So many brides over and over again have said to me “If I could go back I would have done…”  Do not let that person be you!  There are so many things in life we regret and don’t like to look back on.  This day should not have to be one of them.  Put everything you have into your wedding, take in every single moment, do not let others sway your decisions on ideas, make sure you take time to love yourself and destress yourself throughout the process, be kind and patient with your fiancé and your family, make it everything you said you would!  On your wedding day take in the fact that this day is actually about you!  Everyone you love is there to celebrate you and your husband, that is so amazing to me!  I can honestly sit here and say not from a haughty arrogant heart but from a blessed and humble heart that I do not regret!  My husband and I both look back on our wedding day and agree that it was perfect. Were there a couple flaws, oh I’m sure, but what day doesn’t have flaws?  Always remember what is most important and make it the greatest day of your life, after all why not?!
