Tell us about the dress and what inspired your look.

I was looking for a glamorous, old Hollywood look…  Something classic but sexy.  Most of all I wanted to feel comfortable and like myself throughout the day.  I loved all the simple details of the dress, from the scallop lace trim and ruched stretch fabric to the train and draped cowl back.  I’ve never felt more beautiful and feminine than I did in that dress on our wedding day.

What were the most important details to pulling off your dream wedding?

Food, style, music, wine.  We wanted the wedding to feel like a dinner party in a setting that glowed with old New York City glamour.  The ceremony and reception took place in the cellar of Lafayette in a candlelit room that dripped with romance.  The bottles of wine lining the walls, gem toned flowers and live jazz quartet provided an unbelievable and intimate setting.

What was the most memorable moment?

The most memorable moment of the day was hearing the sounds of laughter, cheers, and weeping during the ceremony of our family and friends.  Our ceremony was so very heartfelt and a real celebration of all the family and friends that traveled all over the world to be part of the occasion.  There was so much love and joy in that room.

If you could give future brides any advice, what would it be?

Trust your instincts and the artistic skills of the people you choose to work with.  Part of the reason I was so over the moon with the day was because we trusted the talented, professional and creative vendors to do their thing, and they did!  In my experience, it’s a good way to go through life but is especially useful for planning a wedding!
